Resident urges broader notice for major developments; commission discusses changing public-hearing radius

Abby McDowell, a homeowner at 208 Heather Drive, told the Village of Cottage Grove Planning Commission that she had trouble finding the village comprehensive plan online and called the current public-notice process misleading for nearby residents. “It took me 15 minutes and a lot of random clicking before I found it,” McDowell said, adding that residents along Taylor Street should have been told about a rezoning request affecting their neighborhood.
