MPO board approves FDOT amendment to expand I‑275 resurfacing limits to include interchanges

The Pasco County Metropolitan Planning Organization Board voted Jan. 9 to approve a Florida Department of Transportation District 7 request to amend the county’s 2025–2029 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and increase the resurfacing limits for Interstate 275.
According to staff presentation by Scott Ferry, the amendment increases the project length from 5.9 miles to 9.8 miles — a 3.9-mile change representing a 66.75% increase — to add all interchange ramps to the resurfacing scope from the Hillsborough County line to County Road 54. Ferry displayed a map showing the expanded project limits.
"The total project distance will increase from 5.9 miles to 9.8 miles," Ferry said during the presentation.
A board member moved approval and the motion was seconded. The board voice-voted the measure with the recorded response of "Aye" and the chair declared the amendment approved.
No additional funding, budget details, or schedule changes for construction were specified in the meeting remarks; staff noted the action was an FDOT request to amend the TIP record.
The amendment will be incorporated into the MPO’s TIP documents and the project record.
