Committee approves amendment for additional Oracle Cloud test environments for ERP

The Wayne County Committee on Government Operations approved an amendment Oct. 15 to the county’s existing platform services contract to add test environments for the county’s Oracle Cloud enterprise resource planning (ERP) rollout.
Grama Abbas, division director for enterprise applications at Wayne County, told the committee the amendment adds test environments to support the ERP phase and that the county is baselining financials and tracking changes through steering and leadership committees. Abbas said the county is implementing “end-to-end auditing” and logging so administrators can see who changes what and when, and that user monitoring will help identify slow transaction processing.
Abbas told commissioners PeopleSoft will remain available through the end of 2025 for historical reporting. She said JD Edwards will remain in place through the end of next year for the same reason. She added that the number of test environments may be reduced after the contract’s full term and that license renewals would be adjusted at that time.
A commissioner asked about post‑implementation checks to measure efficiency and identify gaps. Abbas said those checks and adjustments are ongoing through steering and leadership committees and are reflected in the county’s monthly reports.
With no further questions, the committee approved the amendment (motion made by Commissioner Wilson and seconded by Commissioner Killeen).
