A proposal to establish an optional statewide contract for student‑transportation routing software was discussed March 4 in the Joint Finance‑Appropriations Committee. The Department of Education and legislative analysts described the procurement as intended to give districts —especially smaller and rural ones—access to routing tools that produce more efficient routes and more accurate mileage and ridership reporting.
