County Auditor outlines 2025 work plan: two performance audits completed, community benefits audit ongoing

Scott said the office completed two performance audits in the year ending June 30, 2025: an audit of the county’s housing grants program and an audit of specialized transit for Arlington residents. He told the board that a community benefits audit, identified in the office’s planning process and of interest to the Audit Committee, is underway and targeted for completion by the end of the calendar year.
The auditor’s office also reported follow‑up activity on prior audit recommendations: auditors reviewed implementation status and closed 17 of 22 outstanding follow-up recommendations. Scott described process improvements, including a revised office policy manual, updated audit planning matrices and working‑paper formats and the hiring of new audit staff to strengthen capacity.
