The resolution aims to formalize an emerging cluster of technology, entrepreneurship and workforce-development activity already present in Walker's Point and to use city resources to clear development barriers, coordinate departments, and support placemaking and connectivity. President Omar Perez said the city’s role is "supporting, not controlling this process," and emphasized streamlining zoning, permitting and infrastructure to help the district grow.
