The committee voted to forward an ILWU petition to the full city council asking that a section of East Alexander Avenue be honorarily named Willie Adams Way in recognition of long-serving local union member Willie Adams.

The Infrastructure Planning and Sustainability Committee voted Oct. 22 to forward to the full City Council a request from the Tacoma chapter of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union to honorarily name a section of East Alexander Avenue "Willie Adams Way." The committee approved forwarding the request by voice vote; the motion was declared adopted.
