Boulder County commissioners held a public hearing Oct. 14 on potential amendments to County Ordinance 2023-4, the local minimum wage schedule that phases county unincorporated-area wages to $25 an hour by 2030. Staff presented five possible paths: pause the 2026 increase and convene municipalities for a regional approach; pause until county wages align with the lowest municipal wage; hold 2026 wages steady and apply the state‑level CPI in later years; accelerate alignment with the City of Boulder; or reduce the 2026 increase and then apply CPI.
