Erath County opens proposals for dispatch consoles, forwards packages to joint dispatch board

Erath County Commissioners Court opened and accepted proposals for new dispatch console systems and turned the submissions over to the joint dispatch board for technical review and a recommendation back to the court.

The court accepted printed proposals from multiple vendors, including packages identified in the meeting as from “Zabbix,” Russ Bassett, and Watson Consoles. Speaker 1 said, “We're going to open these, receive a copy, but then we're going to give these to the joint dispatch board, to allow them to look at these and then then make a recommendation back to us.”

The commissioners did not take a formal vote on procurement at the meeting. The court’s stated process is that the joint dispatch board will evaluate the proposals on technical grounds; the board’s recommendation will then be returned to the Commissioners Court for review and any formal action.

The procurement relates to the county’s emergency dispatch infrastructure; no contract awards or dollar amounts were announced at the meeting. The packages presented at the court were made part of the meeting record and will be reviewed by the technically focused joint dispatch board before the court considers approval.
