Valley Transit commission approves July and August check registers including Whitman final payment

At the request of the chair, the Valley Transit Commission voted to approve the July and August check registers after staff summarized the expenditures.

Kristin (staff member) told the commission the combined register totals were approximately $1,050,000 for the period, including $708,000 in local share refunds to partners. "The total expenses were approximately 1,050,000, but that included $708,000 in local share refunds that we did to our partners," Kristin said.

Kristin broke out the other roughly $342,000 of expenses: about $26,000 in administrative costs; roughly $100,000 in vehicle maintenance (which included the purchase of a support vehicle the commission authorized at the March meeting); about $153,000 in building maintenance that included a final payment of $138,192.14 on phase 1 of the Whitman facility project; about $34,000 in operations costs; and roughly $29,000 in ADA and paratransit service costs.

A commissioner moved to approve the registers; a second was recorded and the chair called for the vote. Commissioners voiced "aye" and the chair stated, "Motion carries." The meeting record did not include the names of the mover or seconder or a roll-call tally.

The action was procedural: staff presented the supporting check registers and the commission approved payment of listed obligations. No amendments or conditions were attached to the approval during the meeting.
