The Wright County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution proclaiming the first week of October 2025 as National 4-H Week in Wright County.
Sophie Selma, introduced herself as a fourth-generation 4-H member and current president of the Handy Dandy Forage Club and the Wright County Federation Board. She told commissioners Wright County 4-H has 18 clubs, more than 700 members and over 180 adult volunteers. "Through 4-H, I've gained leadership skills, improved my public speaking, and I've made connections throughout the whole state and nation," Selma said.
Commissioners thanked Selma for her presentation and moved to adopt the resolution. The motion to declare October National 4-H Week in Wright County passed unanimously.
After the vote the board invited Selma and other 4-H members forward for a photograph.
