Student advisor reports technical and course‑placement problems with new AOP program

A student advisor, Maddie Van Beek, told the Arlington board that several students have experienced problems with a newly implemented AOP online program, including disappearing courses and lost progress.
"I was put into a class... I logged in the next day, and that class is deleted, completely deleted. And so I don't have anything to work on that day," Maddie Van Beek said, describing how she lost work when a course assignment was removed and then reassigned to a different class with no preserved progress. "A lot of my other classmates have been doing that too. And it's just really frustrating."
A board member acknowledged the report and thanked Van Beek for sharing the student perspective. The student advisor said other students raised minor concerns about testing and advisory activities but otherwise reported school events and clubs were proceeding normally.
The board did not take formal action at the meeting; the student report was part of the board comments section. Staff follow‑up was discussed informally during the meeting and will be handled outside the public session.
