During the board's public-comment period, a person in the audience used their three minutes to read extended sexually explicit passages from a novel. Several board members and staff interrupted and reminded the speaker about public-comment rules, which prohibit threatening or disruptive language and require comments to be germane to district business. Staff and the board noted policy references (board policies GAAE and JGECA) during the interventions.
