Commission approves Community Corrections renovation contract with 50% initial payment

The Greene County Board of Commissioners authorized the county president to negotiate and sign a renovation contract for the Community Corrections facility at its Sept. 2 meeting.

Commissioners said the renovation quote is substantial but needed to address problems including nonfunctional showers and worn flooring. The quoted payment schedule discussed in the meeting calls for 50% down when materials arrive and the remaining 50% upon completion, with the target completion window in January–February 2026.

Board members said staff and contractors have a plan to carry out work around operations in the building, though a firm start date was not available at the meeting. The motion authorized proceeding with the contract up to the quoted amount and gave the commission president authority to negotiate and execute the final agreement.
