The meeting record states the department has funds available from the state allocation to cover both positions. A motion to approve posting and hiring the two positions passed by voice vote with commissioners indicating “aye.”
Commissioners noted the earlier approval of the state allocation during an earlier meeting that afternoon as the funding source for these positions. Staff did not cite a statute or ordinance in support of the hires during the presentation.
