Austin Energy approves district cooling billing upgrade; staff will provide additional performance reporting
Commission approved a billing-system upgrade for the district cooling (DEC) system; staff said the change will improve billing accuracy and that additional reporting on district cooling profitability and viability will be provided on request.

Ken Snais, vice president of power production and district and engine cooling for Austin Energy, said the approved item will "make the district cooling billing a lot more effective and efficient, more accurate." Snais told commissioners the utility has provided some reporting previously and that "we're in the process of doing some other reviews right now" and that staff can bring "additional information" if commissioners specify what they want to see.
