Commission approves rezoning for 11910 Cummings Highway; also adopts code fee change, backs fairgrounds grant application and several budget amendments

Cannon County commissioners voted to rezone a 0.6-acre parcel at 11910 Cummings Highway from A-1 (agriculture) to C-1 (commercial) for a proposed convenience store, approving the application by a 5-3 margin. The applicant’s representative described plans for a small “quick stop” offering breakfast and lunch items and retail goods; the owner said the family does not plan to install gas pumps or sell alcoholic beverages at the location.
