Planning commission approves remodel permit and previous minutes

The Corinne Planning and Zoning Commission approved a building permit for a remodel and addition on a parcel along 4400 West and voted to adopt the commission's previous meeting minutes.

The applicant, identified in discussion as Jonathan Madsen, told the commission he plans to remodel the main residence and add an addition on the north side of the property. He said the project will reorient the house so its front faces east instead of south and will introduce a new roof line. Commissioners noted the property is in an agricultural zone and that the parcel size exceeds the one-acre minimum for that zone.

Commission staff explained that Box Elder County performs plan review and inspections under existing arrangements. According to staff, the county has already completed its review of the application; when the county sends its review back the city will mark planning and zoning as reviewed, collect payment and forward the permit to the county for inspections. The applicant asked about lead time, and staff said processing should be relatively quick once the applicant submits documents.

A commissioner moved to approve the permit; Michael Bass seconded. The commission voted in favor and the motion carried. The commission also adopted the prior meeting minutes after a motion and second; that motion likewise carried.

No conditions or amendments to the permit were recorded in the meeting minutes. Staff said the applicant will be contacted when the permit package is ready for signature.
