Separately, the court approved two prime contract change orders for SCI Construction (see votes summary) that yielded a net savings from a reduced allowance for evidence lockers and a small increase for additional saw-cutting discovered during demolition.
Courthouse third floor and Park Hill schematic contract
Project staff reported the third-floor courtroom additions are progressing: subcontractor manpower was increased and site deliveries addressed an earlier concern about jail partitions, and the pay application process is in review.
The court approved a Park Hill contract limited to schematic design (capped at $42,000) for a package of courthouse remodel tasks that includes a DA-office expansion, First-Floor entrance/thermal improvements, Second-Floor infill and jury-sound mitigation on the Fourth Floor. County staff emphasized the approval covered schematic work only; later phases require separate written approvals.
Annex and annex-related work
Commissioner Stacy reported the annex project funded with American Rescue Plan funds is in punch-list and near final completion. The tax office is scheduled to move this month; staff are awaiting final details on furniture supplemental orders, canopy options and camera repositioning before final closeout and warranty transition.
