Commissioners proclaim Security Officer Appreciation Week; motion passes by roll call

The Fremont County Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved a proclamation designating Security Officer Appreciation Week during the Sept. 15 meeting.

Commissioner Bell moved to approve the proclamation "for the week of September 2025," and a second was given. The clerk called the roll: Commissioner Bell voted "Aye" and Commissioner Grantham voted "Aye." The chair announced the motion carries.

Security officer Brian Smith of Advanced Professional Security accepted the recognition at the meeting and addressed the commission, describing his work and thanking the board. The board noted that this security position at county facilities had been contracted out and praised Smith for greeting visitors, assisting patrons and protecting county staff and property.

Commissioners requested a photograph for the county website and recorded the proclamation in the meeting folder. The proclamation calls on Fremont County residents to recognize security officers for their contributions; the meeting record shows a motion, second and roll-call vote approving the proclamation.
