Architects give board progress update on districtwide facilities assessment; draft due in 4–6 weeks

The team is compiling an asset inventory for each room (flooring type, ceiling tile type, door hardware, toilet-room finishes, wired glass locations and similar data) and pairing each identified condition with photographs. Arcon described life-safety items (for example, wired glass that would be targeted for future replacement with safety glass) and immediate maintenance items such as stained ceiling tiles and gymnasium weatherproofing that allow light penetration.
The firm explained the deliverables will include: updated site and floor plans, a photographic condition log, mechanical/electrical/plumbing system inventories, and an Excel-based living prioritization schedule that shows recommended years for work and line-item costs. That spreadsheet will apply a 4% annual escalation to todays cost estimates; Arcon described a four-tier priority classification for roofing and other systems (priority 1: within one year; priority 2: two to five years; priority 3: six to ten years; priority 4: more than ten years). Arcon also said they will include environmental and inspection reports where available.
Arcon estimated a draft facility assessment for all schools in roughly one to one-and-a-half months; final deliverables would follow after review with district staff. Board members and staff said the assessment will be used in conjunction with financial planning and the districtlife-safety survey due in 2026 to sequence projects and funding.
