The draft plan, described by consultant Ellis Stevie as one that “will shape the future of Wheat Ridge over the next 15 or so years,” organizes guidance into values, place-based tools and an implementation chapter and highlights mobility, place-making and fiscal strength as core goals.
The plan’s mobility framework maps a complete network of bicycle and pedestrian facilities, identifies “gathering locations” where streetscape elements should prioritize staying-places (examples include the 38th Avenue corridor from Wadsworth to Pierce) and pairs a hierarchy of “going places” (street treatments) with “staying places” (trees, lighting, furniture, on-street parking).
