Committee directs administration to release RFP for UWSP Wausau dorm redevelopment

The Marathon County Human Resources, Finance and Property Committee unanimously directed administration to release a request for proposals (RFP) for redevelopment of the UW-Stevens Point Wausau dormitory parcel.

Vice Chair Marshall made the motion to direct administration to release the RFP "related to the UWSP Wausau dormitory, including redevelopment of that facility or parcel," and Supervisor Pool seconded. The chair called for a voice vote; members voted aye and the motion carried unanimously.

County Administrator Leonard said staff have already begun drafting the RFP and are prepared to proceed if the committee gives formal direction; Leonard said the step advances transparency and follows prior committee and Education-Economic Development Committee discussion. The administrator indicated staff would return with procurement materials and further details as the RFP process unfolds.

Ending: With the committee's unanimous direction, procurement staff will finalize and issue the RFP and return to committee or the board as necessary during the solicitation and evaluation process.
