Staff outlined several rezoning resolutions recommended by the planning commission and presented a resolution to accept roads in Grove at Cedar Hill into the county public-road system. A developer asked that a rezoning item be removed from consideration.
County staff presented several rezoning resolutions and a resolution to accept subdivision roads into the public system at the Oct. 20 Loudon County Commission workshop; the planning commission recommended the items, and staff reported the highway department inspected the roads and deemed them suitable for acceptance.
Jim Jenkins read multiple rezoning items by tax map and address, including requests to change parcels from A-2 (rural/residential) or A-1 (agricultural/forestry) to A-3 (developing agricultural). Examples given included:
- Tax Map 51, Parcel 4609, 28374 Highway 95 (approximately 2.1 acres). - Tax Map 18-70, 3990 Pine Grove Province Road (approximately 1 acre). - Tax Map 36, Parcel 109, 13503 Antioch Church Road (approximately 1 acre). - Tax Map 12, Parcel 10, 13116 Boyd Station Road (approximate size not specified on record).
Staff also presented a resolution accepting Cedar Branch Trail, Cherry Blossom and Dogwood Place, roads in The Grove at Cedar Hill subdivision, into the county public-road system. Staff said the highway department inspected the roads and found them suitable and that the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation had terminated the notice of coverage for stormwater at the affected drains. Staff noted a one-year maintenance window remains if post-acceptance issues arise.
At one point a developer’s representative, Jack Paul, asked to remove a specific rezoning item from consideration; the request to withdraw was granted on the floor and the item was not considered further at the workshop.
Planning staff and the highway department recommended the items move forward; no final votes were recorded at the workshop. Several items were scheduled for consideration at the commission’s Nov. 3 meeting.
