Kings County supervisors unanimously adopted a proclamation on Sept. 30 recognizing National 4‑H Week in October 2025 and honoring local 4‑H volunteers, members and ambassadors.
Leonel Jimenez, Cooperative Extension director for Kings County, and Casey Hill, community outreach specialist for the Kings County 4‑H program, presented the proclamation and introduced the county’s 4‑H ambassador team. Hill told the board the Kings County 4‑H program has six clubs across Hanford, Lemoore and Corcoran, including an in‑school club at UC‑linked University Charter School and a military 4‑H club at NAS Lemoore. She said participation in the county program had increased by 153% in the past two years.
"4‑H members are four times more likely to make a positive impact in their community and twice as likely to pursue a career in STEM," Hill said, summarizing national research on outcomes for 4‑H participants.
The board presented certificates to ambassadors and passed the proclamation by roll call.
