Pitkin County accepts Eagle County funds for Plasher Farmstead restoration

Pitkin County commissioners on Sept. 10 approved an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with Eagle County to accept a $350,000 contribution for restoration work at the Plasher Farmstead.
Open Space and Trails manager Jessie Young said Eagle County had committed $350,000 and the IGA formalizes that partnership. “Eagle County has committed those funds formally, and this IGA is seeking to kind of formalize that partnership with them and approve accepting those funds,” Young said.
Young noted the county intends to receive bids and begin work on the house restoration and related improvements; grant applications for the house had been unsuccessful but staff will reapply for barn funding in a later cycle. Commissioners approved the IGA and set a second reading and public hearing for Sept. 25 as part of the formal approval process.
The IGA will allow the county to proceed toward contracted restoration work once bidding and applicable procurement steps are complete.
