Williamson County authorizes eminent domain for Ronald Reagan Boulevard improvement; construction update provided

Williamson County commissioners on Aug. 19 authorized the use of eminent domain to acquire 0.3886 acres owned by CHKR LLC for roadway improvements on Ronald Reagan Boulevard in Georgetown, and they received a construction-status briefing from county infrastructure staff.

Robert Day, senior director of infrastructure, presented the month’s construction summary, updating the court on a range of road and creek‑crossing projects across precincts. Day said the Liberty Hill Bypass relocation work is on schedule for a late‑2025 completion now that power relocations are complete. He also described ongoing work on Ronald Reagan Boulevard — including paving and a bridge abutment wing-wall pour — and traffic‑improvement projects such as the 195 ramp at Ronald Reagan and multiple creek crossings intended to improve mobility.

After the presentation, the court moved to authorize the county’s use of eminent domain to acquire a 0.3886‑acre parcel owned by CHKR LLC needed for construction of the Ronald Reagan Boulevard Segment C improvements. The motion passed unanimously (5-0).
