The collector’s office proposed dropping optional annual support to save about $600 a year; staff confirmed the vendor will still provide setup and training even if annual support is declined. The contract will be paid from the tax-maintenance budget.
Commission discussion emphasized the security benefit of removing daily staff movement of checks across campus; the sheriff’s office provides security for the collector’s functions. Commissioners approved the contract by voice vote after a motion to enter the contract was made and seconded.
