Staff presented the item as a follow-up to discussion at the Aug. 21 work session and said the reclassification aligns duties with current code-enforcement and permitting workloads.
Commissioner Stowers moved to reclassify the position; Commissioner Bruce seconded. The motion passed by roll call vote.
County staff said the change is intended to improve enforcement capacity and ensure the county fully leverages the EnerGov system for inspections and permitting. The board did not provide a salary or budget detail during the Sept. 4 session; staff will handle classification implementation through normal HR procedures.
