Code enforcement reorganized; staff reports 1,629 cases in FY24–25 and new proactive strategy

Sergio (code enforcement manager) briefed the council on restructuring and performance measures for the Code Enforcement Division. He said the division recorded 1,629 assigned cases in fiscal year 2024–25, of which 910 were proactive investigations. The division issued 1,076 notices of violation and recorded 1,183 closed cases; Sergio said citation fines accounted for 1,589 actions where property owners had not abated violations.
