Park at Bothell Landing and skate park: Staff reminded the board that Grindline (the consultant) will host a second public workshop on July 24 in council chambers to present alternative designs for a skate park and pump track at Park at Bothell Landing. The skate‑and‑pump‑track design work is proceeding alongside the broader Park at Bothell Landing design effort; staff said the workshop is open to the public.
Golf course master planning: Staff said the master planning kickoff for the former golf course is in July; public engagement and formal planning tasks are expected to follow with the board likely to see project materials in winter. Unlike the PROS plan, staff said, the golf‑course master plan does not have the same external deadline and therefore a somewhat more flexible schedule.
Memorial sculpture update: Board member Sheila Brystie summarized outreach about a proposed memorial sculpture and said she visited a carver whose stone work would cost about $10,500 (stone) and that the family initially raised $6,000. Brystie said the wood carver estimated wood sculptures would take 16 weeks and require ongoing maintenance; she advised staff she would discuss options with the family and with department budgeting staff.
Other notes: Staff confirmed there is no board meeting in August and encouraged the board to attend pop‑up outreach, focus groups and summer events. Staff said consultants for the PROS plan will visit in August to conduct two stakeholder focus groups and site tours.
