Sen. Arguin presented SB 524, which would require law‑enforcement agencies that use artificial intelligence to draft or assist in drafting police reports to adopt a written policy describing the use of AI, to note on reports when AI‑generated content was used, and to retain drafts of AI‑assisted report text for a limited time so that prosecutors, defense counsel and courts can review the editing history.
