The Aransas County Commissioners Court declared a county-owned trailer surplus and authorized it to be put up for sale at the next auction.
A county staff member told the court the container-style trailer had reached the end of its useful life and the county had replaced it. "It is empty. We don't even use it anymore because of the state that it's in," the staff member said. The auctioneer, after a site review, recommended placing it on the surplus list because there is local demand for such containers for rural and lease uses.
A motion to declare the trailer surplus and place it for auction was seconded and passed by a recorded vote of "aye." The court did not specify a reserve price or auction date during the meeting.
County staff will include the trailer on the surplus list for the next county auction and handle any necessary preparatory steps for sale.
