Recommending committee forwards technical update removing specific program name from landlord-training code

Peter Lowenstein, speaking for the record, said the bill "removes specific reference to the name of the landlord training program no longer used, and leaves the reference in the program in generality." City Attorney Jeff Dvorak told the committee the change is technical and reflects that Metro has not used the term "Las Vegas crime free multi housing program" for some time; he said Metro is expected to give the program a new name within about a year and the city may return with another update then.
The item was a public hearing; no public commenters spoke on the bill. The committee moved to approve the bill for referral to the City Council; the motion passed.
Next steps: Bill 2025-27 will be heard for adoption by the City Council on July 16, 2025.
