Commission amends Capital Improvement Program to reflect approved projects and newly awarded items

The Board of Commissioners approved an amendment to the City of Bowling Green Capital Improvement Program covering fiscal years 2025 through 2028. The amendment updates project schedules and funding allocations to reflect actions already approved during the fiscal year and to incorporate recently awarded items.

Staff highlighted several projects listed in the amendment, including a water‑rescue boat and equipment previously acquired for the training center, pedestrian-island work on Riverview Drive (a grant‑funded project), simulator equipment for the police training room, replacement of convention center furniture, playground upgrades at Parker Bennett and Reservoir Hill parks, scoreboard and irrigation work, and other facility repairs across parks and historic properties.

Why it matters: The CIP amendment consolidates prior approvals and newly authorized procurements so departments and budget staff have an up‑to‑date capital schedule for planning and monitoring.

Staff thanked the finance and capital‑projects team for preparing the revised schedules; the amendment passed on a unanimous roll call.
