During questioning, the assessor explained that even where an appealed property had a prior appraisal or communicated value last year, current sales and comparable analysis must support any change. The appellant’s submissions did not provide sufficient evidence of overvaluation, the assessor said.
A motion to uphold the assessor’s values for the parcels contested by Crockett was made and approved by voice vote. The minutes record no adjustments to the assessed values for those parcels in this hearing.
