Summary
A CMTA representative told the Mercer County Board the district exceeded an energy-savings guarantee and reported large reductions in electricity and gas use since a 2018 baseline after HVAC and LED upgrades.
A CMTA representative, Jason Volz, told the Mercer County Board of Education that energy-efficiency work completed in prior years has produced savings and reduced utility consumption across the district.
Volz said the district guaranteed $250,000 in annual utility savings tied to projects including a King Middle School HVAC renovation, a partial renovation at Mercer County Intermediate School and LED lighting upgrades across the district. He reported the district saved $298,000 in utility costs, exceeding the guaranteed $250,000.
Volz also reported that, compared with a 2018 baseline period, district electricity consumption was down about 50% and gas consumption was down about 52%.
Board members had no formal action on the report. The CMTA representative offered to provide a presentation copy to board members for further review.
