Board appoints Chip McIntyre to finish Moffat County sheriff's term
Sheriff Casey Hume announced his retirement and the Board of County Commissioners voted June 24 to appoint Undersheriff Chip McIntyre to serve the remainder of Hume's term effective July 2025; Hume said McIntyre plans to run in the 2026 election.

Sheriff Casey Hume told the Moffat County Board of County Commissioners on June 24 that he is retiring and recommended Undersheriff Chip McIntyre be appointed to complete his term. The board approved Resolution 2025-59 to appoint McIntyre effective July 2025.
