Kossuth County supervisors approved a package of routine finance and contracts on Thursday: the FY2025-26 appropriation resolution, a wage-scale resolution that includes a 4% increase and updated longevity language, and annual renewals for core software used in county operations.
The board passed the appropriation resolution for FY2025-26 (Resolution 06-24-25-01) that allows the county to legally appropriate budgeted funds for the coming fiscal year. Supervisors also approved a wage-scale resolution that implements a 4% increase in starting and ongoing salaries and modifies longevity wording so that non-full-time employees who previously received longevity remain eligible.
On software contracts, the county approved a Microsoft Office (GCC) renewal covering courthouse users and a portion of dispatch licenses; staff presented a total for the county portion of roughly $28,798.41. The county also approved a document management "Document Locator" annual license of $11,345 (with an assessor reimbursement portion) and a Solutions contract renewal authorizing annual licensing and support for courthouse systems at around $60,000.
The board approved each contract renewal by motion; the auditor and IT staff said pricing largely held steady from last year and reminded supervisors that dispatch needs the Government Community Cloud (GCC) version of Office to meet CJIS and law-enforcement security requirements.
Supervisors authorized staff to sign contracts and to bill appropriate departmental portions (for example, assessor and sheriff) where applicable.
