Votes at a glance: Denton County approves property purchase, road engineering contract and routine procurements

Denton County Commissioners Court approved several purchasing and contracting items on June 3, including a commercial property purchase, a professional engineering agreement for a county road project and multiple procurement and budget transfers. Most motions passed unanimously with brief discussion or no substantive debate.

Property purchase (agenda item 14g): The court approved a commercial contract and addendum between Stonebriar Storage LLC (seller) and Denton County (purchaser) for two tracts listed in the agenda as approximately 69.06 acres and 70.096 acres at locations on Ganzer Road West and West Milam Road for a combined purchase price of $14,889,050. The court also authorized the county judge to sign closing documents and authorized earnest money of $100,000 to be paid to Freedom Title, care of Kimberly Brooks, within 10 days of the contract’s effective date. The motion to approve was made by the chair and seconded by Commissioner Williams; the court recorded the item as approved.
