An energy industry representative on June 2 presented a proposed multi‑year wind turbine project for southern Wright County and told the board the developer will continue providing updates during the permitting and construction process.
Angelia Millsap described the project as a multi‑year collaboration that will include development, construction and operation. Millsap said the project timeline predicts operation will begin in 2030. After answering questions from supervisors and others in attendance, she said a representative from Infinergy will continue to be in contact with the Board of Supervisors to provide updates.
No formal permit application, route, turbine size, property‑lease details, or tax or royalty figures were presented at the meeting. Board members asked questions but took no formal action; Millsap and an Infinergy representative will return with further details as the developer advances planning.
Why it matters: Large wind projects affect land use, lease revenue, tax valuations, road impacts during construction and community concerns about siting. At this meeting, the presentation was an introductory update rather than a formal application.
