At the start of the June 3 meeting the Public Safety Committee approved the minutes from the May meeting by unanimous voice vote. Later in the session the committee voted unanimously to forward a civil service rule change and one‑year pilot that would allow applicants with a high school diploma or GED plus 36 months of full‑time work to enter the Dallas Police Department academy and receive college credit through UNT Dallas.
