Superintendent Doctor Garrison confirmed the district could add services to any pathway but noted additional support would carry fees. Supporters of pathway 1 said it was the fiscally prudent choice and that the board could follow up with CESA 6 for targeted consultation if questions arise. Opponents pointed to past training and said a one‑time in‑person orientation would reduce the risk of inconsistent application of the rubric.
The motion to approve pathway 1 was moved by Brian Nichols and seconded by Juan Romero; a roll call vote recorded 5 in favor and 2 opposed.
