Schenectady County events office previews Fourth on the Third, Summer Night and fall dates

Schenectady County's events office on June 30 briefed the Legislature's Tourism, Arts & Special Events committee on a packed summer and fall schedule including Fourth on the Third at Mabee Farm, Summer Night downtown, and several fall runs and parades.
Jason LaQuea, director of special events for the county, described the Fourth on the Third partnership with the Schenectady County Historical Society at Mabee Farm (naturalization ceremony at 4 p.m., concert, food vendors and fireworks), and previewed the nineteenth annual Summer Night event downtown with headline acts and a family‑oriented schedule. LaQuea said safety planning involves Sheriffs, Schenectady Police, auxiliary officers, state police and homeland security partners, and noted proactive engagement of juvenile probation officers for this year's event.
Other events previewed included Run the Runway at the county airport in September, a rescheduled Pedal Run in October, a 5K and other fall activities, and the November holiday parade. LaQuea thanked staff and partner agencies for planning and public‑safety coordination.
