Plainview to begin smart water meter installations in January 2024
The City of Plainview, working with contractors Ameresco and Pedal Valve Incorporated, will replace residential and commercial water meters with advanced metering infrastructure beginning January 2024; installations will occur weekdays 7 a.m.–7 p.m., with some Saturdays possible, and the city will notify residents in advance.

The City of Plainview will begin installing new smart water meters, known as advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), in January 2024 in partnership with contractors Ameresco and Pedal Valve Incorporated. Installations will replace existing residential and commercial meters and are intended to update the city's water infrastructure and provide residents with more detailed information on water consumption.
