Council names representatives to county boards and forms three council subcommittees

At the June 10 meeting the Heath City Council made multiple governance appointments and established three council subcommittees to focus council attention on high‑priority operational areas.
Appointments: The council appointed Mayor Jeremiah McClure and City Manager Steven Alexander to represent Heath on the Rockwall County Transportation Consortium (monthly meetings). The council also appointed Mayor McClure and Councilman Myers as the city’s representatives to the Rockwall Emergency Services Corporation board, which oversees the county ambulance contract and related emergency-services matters.
Subcommittees: The council created three subcommittees and named council members to each: (1) Water bridge plan and long‑term water resilience — Councilmen Dodson, Moorman and Myers (membership as recorded at the meeting); (2) Transportation, roads and CIP evaluation — Councilmen Olmby, Thurgood and Moorman; and (3) Customer service and process improvement — Councilmen Horn and Dodson (members expressed willingness to serve). The mayor asked subcommittees to coordinate with staff and the incoming city manager on cadence, deliverables and reporting back to the full council.
The subcommittees are intended to serve as working groups to research issues, liaise with staff and bring recommendations back to the full council. Council emphasized these groups are advisory and final decisions remain with the whole council.
