City Manager Jenny told the Melbourne City Council on July 22 that a portion of the Joseph and Davis Community Center roof collapsed during heavy afternoon rain on July 22. Staff evacuated roughly 20 people from the facility with no reported injuries; the facility will remain closed while staff and the city’s insurer assess damage and determine repairs.
