Council discussion at the special meeting described the resolution as the “first step” in a process to identify potential improvements and evaluate what opportunities exist for public access.
Council members noted constraints raised in the presentation, including a Texas Parks and Wildlife designation that could make creating a beach there difficult; the resolution does not commit the city to any particular project but endorses moving forward with a funded master planning process.
A councilmember moved and the council seconded the resolution; the council approved it by voice vote and the motion carried.
