The McPherson Public Schools Board of Education voted unanimously to adopt a multi-year strategic plan that sets district goals, measurable indicators and a cadence for implementation and evaluation.
Superintendent Shiloh presented edits recommended by board members to add explicit evaluation language — ensuring goals would be monitored and checked against measurable outcomes. Board members praised the effort and noted the plan contains dozens of individual action items; leaders said the next step is sequencing year-one priorities and setting measurable criteria for progress.
Board discussion focused on making the plan actionable: members asked staff to identify three to five items the board should “hang its hat on” in year one and to present guardrails and budget implications. The superintendent said the implementation timetable would run through December for initial assessments, with community input and dashboard reporting to follow.
The motion to approve the plan passed 6-0. Board members said they expect staff to return with implementation steps, measures and timelines that align the strategic plan to budgeting and staffing decisions.
