Newton recognizes YMCA Job Prep pilot program; seven students completed 12-week course
At its May 13 meeting the Newton City Commission recognized a YMCA Job Prep pilot at the Newton YMCA. Instructor Benjamin Meyer described the 12-week, two-hours-per-week program for 15- to 17-year-olds; the YMCA board funded summer wages so employers pay no salary costs.
